To support the Institute’s drive to increasing access and utilization of basic nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls and children under five years of age, IHVN is sourcing for suitably qualified dynamic candidates to fill in the following positions:

Monitoring and Evaluation ManagerMaster’s Degree in  relevant fields (Statistics, Economics, Demography ,  Anthropology, Development Planning or Social Work,  Epidemiology) At least five years of progressive experience of monitoring and evaluating  public health/nutrition or any large social sector programs Experience in the use of monitoring and evaluation techniques and methodologies including, conducting operations research, household surveys and qualitative assessments; data analysis, interpretation and reporting Proficient with analytical tools and software such as Stata, SPSS, MS Excel, etc.
Finance and Administration ManagerChartered Accountant with minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience At least seven years of experience in a bi-lateral or multi-lateral agency financed project in Nigeria (or an African country) Knowledge and expertise in project preparation, commercial negotiations, financial management, internal controls/systems development, accounting, auditing and reporting; Efficient in solving problems with sound judgement

COVID-19 LGA COORDINATOR, (COVAX LGA Coordinator)TB-LON 3 PROJECT (20)

IHVN is in partnership with local and international organizations and the different tiers of the government of Nigeria at national, state and local levels. The Institute’s vision is to be a leader in providing quality health services, capacity building and research in West Africa and beyond.

The TB-LON 3 Project is a USAID-funded Award that is a revolutionary program working with communities, facilities and relevant State and National structures to improve access to TB case finding, diagnosis, treatment and notification in Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Oyo States; as well as increase domestic financing for TB and strengthen surveillance and integrated reporting across four result areas:

  1. Improved access to high-quality, person-centered TB treatment, DR-TB, and TB/HIV services for a cumulative number of at least 106,576 persons for the life of the activity
  2. Strengthened systems and structures for TB detection, treatment and notification with TB service delivery platforms strengthened
  3. TB disease transmission and progression reduced
  4. TB research and innovations accelerated with improved impact on program implementation.

The TB-LON 3 Award is implemented by a consortium with Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) as the Prime Recipient, Society for Family Health as the Sub-Recipient and other Implementing Entities.  USAID recently approved additional funding for this Award to scale up COVID-19 vaccination activities in 2 States.

Job Summary:

The COVAX LGA Monitor will support and ensure widespread and equitable access to and delivery of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccinations to unvaccinated individuals at community and facility levels in the LGA.  S/He would also strategically support the integration of COVAX vaccination activities into PHCs routine immunization programs in the assigned LGA.

Roles and responsibilities:

  1. Check and maintain the implementation process of TB-LON 3 COVAX immunization activities in the LGA.
  1. Support capacity building of LGA healthcare workers on RCCE to integrate COVID risk communication and vaccine promotion messages into existing service provisions in the PHCs and outreach programs.
  2. Facilitate orientation of engaged LON 3 TB Response partners on vaccine hesitancy, COVID-19 misconceptions; and support integration of COVAX vaccination into TB screening at facility and community level.
  3. Provide technical assistance for LGA COVAX vaccination outreach activities, facility based vaccination activities and house to house visits.
  4. Support the integration of TB screening into all COVAX vaccination activities in the LGA – facility and community level.
  5. Ensure proper documentation of COVAX activities, spot checking of COVAX documentation tools and timely reporting of COVAX activities data.
  6. Document COVAX activities and produce weekly reports on COVAX activities in the LGA and report challenges to COVAX State Coordinator where necessary.
  7. Any other duties as assigned by the State Coordinator.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a degree in health, social sciences or humanities  
  • Good knowledge of COVID-19 epidemiology and vaccination program.
  • At least two years of professional experience working in public health or vaccination programs.
  • Experience in working at the grass root.
  • Very good knowledge of MS word, excel, power point etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Yoruba

Job Summary:

The COVAX State Coordinator will address the challenges posed by vaccine hesitancy, and lead the implementation of strategies to rapidly scale-up COVID-19 vaccination in the State. S/He would also strategically support the State Immunization Programs to integrate COVAX vaccination activities into routine immunization programs.


Roles and responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the implementation of TB-LON 3 COVID-19 immunization scale-up activities in the State.
  1. Coordinate the engagement, involvement and linkages of key partners in the State & LGAs to participate in COVAX program.
  2. Facilitate state COVID 19 vaccination situation assessment exercise and support the State/LGA team to develop COVAX activity plan.
  3. Coordinate the implementation of COVAX activity plan in all the engaged LGAs in the State.
  4. Support the State in capacity building of healthcare workers on RCCE to integrate COVID risk communication and vaccine promotion messages into facility service provisions in the state.
  5. Represent TB LON 3 on relevant COVID-19 committees and technical working groups in the state.
  6. Support TB LON 3 state SI Coordinator to verify COVAX data; and appropriately use data for program review to improve quality and increase performance.
  7. Supervise TB LON 3 LGA COVAX monitors in the state.
  8. Collate LGA reports on COVAX activities and produce periodic reports on COVAX implementation in the state.
  9. Any other duties as assigned by COVAX Manager or TB LON 3 Management

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a degree in medical, health or social sciences. Master’s degree in public health(MPH) will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of COVID-19 epidemiology and vaccination program.
  • At least three years of professional experience working in public health or vaccination programs.
  • Experience in working with key state health stakeholders.
  • Experience with USAID or any other donor will be an advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English as well as presentation skills, with proven experience in analyzing data and developing PowerPoint presentations and other reports.

EOI: Engagement of Service Provider for Waste Management/Disposal

IHVN is engaged in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, capacity building, training, research, and providing care and support services. IHVN operates through partnership with local and international organizations and the different tiers of the government of Nigeria at national, state and local levels. The Institute’s vision is to be a leader in providing quality health services, capacity building and research in West Africa and beyond.

Expression of Interest TitleEngagement of Service Provider for Waste Management/Disposal
Reports to: Administration Department
Location:IHVN Campus, Abuja
Contract Duration:Contract is for one year but renewable based on the availability of funds and performance

We currently have an opportunity to engage a waste disposal company to manage solid and liquid biomedical wastes being generated from the clinical diagnostics and research laboratories at the IHVN campus.

Required Services

  • Work with the Administrative and Laboratory Departments to evacuate wastes being generated at IHVN’s offices and laboratories which comprise of two seven floors buildings at the IHVN campus
  • Evacuate waste at least once a week from the offices and the laboratories at IHVN campus
  • Provide appropriate waste bins for solid and liquid waste including biomedical waste from the offices and the laboratories at IHVN campus from where the wastes will be picked
  • Evacuating sewage waste at regular intervals
  • Ensure the safe and efficient handling and disposal of all solid and liquid waste

Instructions/Requirements for EOI

  • EOI must include company profile and the profile should (i) demonstrate the capacity to safely dispose biomedical solid and liquid waste including the use of autoclaves, incinerators, and other safe means for toxic waste (ii) must show proof of familiarity with health safety regulations including for the different categories of pathogens including Category A, B and C Priority Pathogens
  • Must include proof of registration with the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) and have a current registration certificate
  • All EOI must be in ink or type written, submission in pencil will not be accepted
  • EOI must be properly sealed
  • Submission must include copies of tax clearance certificates for the past three years
  • Evidence of at least two similar jobs made in the past for IHVN/other organizations etc
  • Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
  • Proof of DUNS certification
  • The validity period for all proposed rates must be stated as: 90 days from the date of this bid’s expiration
